History of Falke

In 1895, Franze Falke-Rohen founded his own knitting mill. In 1902, his son Franz took over the mill and led it through World War I. In 1918, father and son acquired a wool factory in Schammelberg, laying the foundation for the Falke Group as we know it today. In 1920, a new knitting mill with the most modern machines of the time was opened. This factory still serves as the headquarters of the Falke Group today.

In the following years, Falke continued to grow and solidified its reputation for high-quality Falke socks. In 1960, a women's collection was launched, but it was discontinued in 1985 to focus on the large market share for men's socks. In 1990, Paul Falke and his nephew Franz-Peter Falke took over the leadership of the Falke Group.

Falke then opened major stores, including flagship stores in Ascona (Switzerland), Zurich, and Berlin.
